Mobile Kitchens USA Provides Mobile Kitchen Trailer for Special Military Training Exercise
Fort Hunter Liggett is a U.S. Army Combat Support Training Center located on California’s Central Coast. It is an active military base that is primarily used as a training facility for special operations and joint forces training activities. The Marine Special Force Company recently conducted a special training exercise at Fort Hunter Liggett, which required supplying food for a lot of hungry marines. They decided to hire BBNH Enterprises, Inc. to provide food services for the duration of the event. To ensure that they had the proper mobile kitchen unit for this training, BBNH Enterprises reached out to Mobile Kitchens USA for assistance.
About the Client
BBNH Enterprises is a food service company that specializes in military service. They help feed our nation’s “warrior athletes” with fresh ingredients and healthy menu options that enhance the “warfighter” performance. They have a travel team that visits military installations throughout the United States, whether it’s for emergency support or special on-base events such as this training exercise conducted by the Marine Special Force Company.
BBNH Enterprises contracted with Mobile Kitchens USA for a two-week rental of a mobile kitchen trailer. It was delivered to the base and set up on site to meet their specific food service requirements.
What They Rented
BBNH Enterprises rented an 8’ x 30’ Mobile Kitchen Semi Trailer (Unit #CTC-579) that was customized with the exact equipment requested by BBNH and the Marine Special Force Company. The trailer contained a hood, exhaust system, fire system and propane equipment set-up. For cooking, the trailer was equipped with two double-stack convection ovens, a six-burner range with an oven underneath, a flat-top grill, a tilt skillet and a hot box for warm food storage.
The food servers needed ample space to prepare the food, so the trailer included work tables and storage space. For dishwashing, there was a three-compartment sink, along with a hand sink. The trailer featured a front-mounted air conditioning unit, a landing area and a rear door for worker access. A separate shed was placed outside the mobile kitchen trailer to house a 50-gallon hot water heater.
A Smooth Experience
During the 2-week training exercise, everything went according to schedule and BBNH Enterprises was able to provide the necessary food services to the hungry Marines. Once the event was complete, Mobile Kitchens USA helped disconnect the temporary kitchen trailer and tow it off-site back to our home facility.
